Al`Kabor (EQMac) – The Timekeeper's Gazette

Seezig, of the Timekeeper Gazette, here to report to you on the discovery of a dragon, yes a dragon I say in the streets of New Tanaan. The beast was seen roaming around the book stacks inside the great Library of Knowledge.

This strange being was seeking something, but what? I, Seezig, decided to find out. I grabbed my quills and immediately ran to the Library. Once there, I saw a most unlikely collection of adventurers gathered around the Dragon.

As I listened in, it seemed that the Dragon was evaluating these four representatives of the city. The Dragon, Akh Whimsyshade, seemed to be looking for proof of something. I dared creep closer, hiding beneath a table in the entry room.

Akh Whimsyshade seemed to be testing these four. I quickly captured their names as Akh addressed each of them in some sort of orderly fashion...Delorne, Sheik, Saoris, and Firehorse. To me it appeared as if these four had been selected, representing various factions and talents from the lands of Norrath. Soon after the Dragon addressed, then four created a circle around the Dragon.

At this point, Akh began to, well, chant. I can think of no other way to describ the melodious sound of a dragon when it is speaking instead of roaring in attack. It was unlike any other voice I had ever heard.

The Dragon was speaking about something that had inspired it. The Dragon said something about a Drosus the Deadly. But, strangeness began. Shortly after Akh spoke, Firehorse spoke of Drosus. Then Saoris and Sheik each spoke, as if guided by another mind. These latter two gave far more elaborate prose. I must admit, I was captivated. Then Delorne spoke of a conflict that confronted Drosus.

This continued for a period of time. I noticed Akh directing each participant, as if he was conducting an orchestra. Also, my sharp eyes detected Akh deftly placing items into the garments of those that seemed to please him in their performance of this ceremony. Before I could capture any more of this strange performance with my scrolls and quills, the Dragon abruptly stopped. He said these few had proven him wrong. He mentioned needing to return to his family to provide them an update on the growth of the herd animals. I must say, this sent chills up and down my spine. The others did not seem to mind, though! What magicks has this Dragon placed upon them?! We may never know. However, I caution everyone to be diligent and on the lookout for more sightings of this Akh Whimsyshade's family. Who knows where they may appear and what other ceremonies they may perform? Are we safe? Are they safe? What has driven them from their lands into ours? What possible amusement could they be seeking?

Let me assure you, if they appear near populated lands, I will be there! Therefore, if you see any other mysterious strangers or magnificent occurrences, be sure to seek out a member of the Timekeeper Gazette immediately. We want to make your news ... our news.
