Why did you become a Guide?
I wanted to become a Guide to be able to help the players of Norrath. I feel I have a lot of knowledge to share with them and I enjoy role-playing. I feel we all have something special in us all that we can share with one or another. Sometimes we just have to find out what it is. Since I have joined the rank of Guide I have realized that I am able to do a lot and share with the players of Norrath.
What games do you guide in? For how long?
I only guide on EverQuest PC Platform
What is your guide race and class?
Drakkin (Bard)
What is your favorite color?
Green is my favorite color.
What is your favorite land (zone)? Why?
Well, since the last time we did this I'm going to have to say that my favorite zone is now the new Kurns Tower that was released with the Seeds of Destruction. It is a very challenging zone.
What has been your best or favorite moment as a Guide?
The best part or favorite moment I have been being a Guide is all the time I have been a guide, everyday. It's a new challenge and rewarding to me to visit all players and have a chat with them. I have a lot of players on my guide server that follow me around as soon as they see me online. I find this kind of funny. Or have players going hey Stardoz could I get some of them cookies and milk :). It's a great feeling to be noticed by the server that you guide on. I have gotten a lot of support from my Server Management Team and fellow Guides. I would just like to say thank you to all.
What is your favorite quest, event, or knowledge circle? What do you do the most of?
I still don't have a favorite Quest, Event, or Knowledge Circle. I really do enjoy most Quests and Events that we have to offer. I try my best to provide 110% into this program to provide many quests to the players.
What has been your worst of least favorite moment as being a Guide?
Players calling me a liar has been my worst moment to be honest. But I have grown to except this as we deal with many different players.
As a player have you every run into any Guides and events?
Yes, I have run into many quests as a player. I participate in many on my server. I enjoy being on the other side also being able to be rewarded for my role-playing abilities.
What is your favorite thing about this Game?
My favorite things about this game are exploring what we have and can do and the players that we interact with everyday provide the most to this game. We all learn new knowledge and share this with others all the time and most times we don't even realize this.
What do you plan to do in the future as a Guide? Any goals?
My future goals are to work towards a promotion to a Senior Guide in the EverQuest platform. Work to become a better Guide as we all are learning everyday no matter what our ranks are. This would not be possible if it was not for the EverQuest Bristlebane Team. They have supported and trained me as well as many on S.W.A.T. Thank you all again.

Why did you become a Guide?
Why does someone become a Guide - let me think about it. Well - it's been quite some time (back in the time when my play-character in EverQuest was still young and innocent - ok - for a gnome I am still a youngster yet) when I met the one or other Guide online and sometimes I caught myself with the thought "How would it be to join their rank?". But you know how such things always go ... you would love to head for it but then ... you don't make it just because you get the bad idea you may not be the one qualified for that kind of business (it's a bit like a Gnome runs out of sprockets - figure it!). The day came I decided to be the bravest of all us Gnomes and I finally got to the conclusion "Ok - maybe you can make the game more interesting and way more fun for some players and you may even be able to assist them the one or other way". I just wanted to become a Guide then and all this fascination about being on the "other side" was quite thrilling - although we aren't NPCs at all - but no player also when online as Guide. So if you ever thought of applying to become a part of our Guide-Family - get it done! You will not regret it! (Needless to say - Gnomes run the show of course.)

Warum wird jemand Guide - mal überlegen. Nun ja es ist geraume Zeit schon her (damals in EverQuest, als mein Spielcharakter noch jung und unschuldig war - ok - für gnomische Zeiträume bin ich selbst heute noch ein Jungspund) - da bin ich rein zufällig dem einen oder anderen Guide begegnet und habe mich auch zu diesem Zeitpunkt bereits immer wiedermal mit dem Gedanken getragen, mich selbst zu bewerben. Doch wie es eben so ist ... wollen ist eines, wenn einem dann nicht kurzfristig die Wolle ausgeht und man denkt, man wäre vielleicht doch nicht geeignet (das ist so ähnlich, als wenn einem Gnom die Ersatzschrauben ausgehen - man stelle sich vor!). Irgendwann habe ich dann aber wohl doch meinen ganzen Mut zusammengenommen und mich einfach beworben mit dem Gedanken "Ok - vielleicht kannst Du ja ein paar anderen Spielern das Spiel noch etwas verschönern oder ihnen auch irgendwie helfen." Es war einfach - nun ja - ich hatte Lust drauf, Guide zu werden und war ganz fasziniert davon, mal "auf der anderen Seite" zu stehen - quasi auf Seite des NPCs - wobei wir ja nicht wirklich NPCs sind - aber Spieler eben auch nicht, wenn wir als Guide unterwegs sind. Wenn Du Dich also jemals mit dem Gedanken getragen hast, Teil der Guide-Familie zu werden - bewirb Dich einfach! Es wird dir im Nachhinein nicht leid tun! (Unnötig zu erwähnen - aber natürlich sind wir Gnome fürs Funktionieren zuständig.)
What games do you guide on? For how long?
I do guide on EverQuest and EverQuest II and I am Senior Guide on both games. I feel I should mention I am guiding on both German EverQuest II Servers. It is a great pleasure for me to work with the teams on all my servers (Bristlebane, Innovation, Valor) to bring even more fun to players and give them some (mostly very welcome) distraction from the Grind. I also would like to say "Thank you" to my teams and all other guides that supported me - without you all this interview wouldn't become true.

Ich bin in EverQuest und EverQuest II jeweils Senior Guide. In diesem Zusammenhang sollte ich vielleicht erwähnen, dass ich auf den beiden deutschen EverQuest II Servern ansässig bin. Es ist mir ein außerordentliches Vergnügen, mit den Teams auf allen meinen Servern (Bristlebane, Innovation, Valor) zusammen zu arbeiten, um den Spielern dort noch mehr Spaß und eine (üblicherweise sehr willkommene) Abwechslung vom üblichen Tagesgeschehen anzubieten. Ich möchte an dieser Stelle auch ein "Dankeschön!" an meine Teams und all die anderen Guides die mich immer unterstützen loswerden - ohne Euch alle, wäre dieses Interview niemals zustande gekommen.
What is your guide race and class?
Oh *looks around in fear of trolls around* - usually I am showing up as Gnome but the class differs per game. In EverQuest II I am an Inquisitor.

Oh *schaut sich um, ob auch keine Trolle in der Nähe sind* - üblicherweise erscheine ich als Gnom - die Klasse ist unterschiedlich. In EverQuest II bin ich Inquisitor.
What is your favorite color?
Green! What else! You see ... now you know why our guide-clothing is green. But - well - reconsidering that ... depends on the incarnation it may also be red.

Grün natürlich - schließlich ist unsere Guide-Kleidung nicht umsonst grün. Wobei - ok - je nachdem ... je nach Inkarnation auch rot.
What is your favorite land (zone)?
Oh my - there are so many beautiful areas in EverQuest II and it's quite impossible to decide on a single Zone. There are those calm forest of Antonica, then we have the wonderful Rivervale up to the hills of Timorous Deep ... there are sooooo many places. You just need to take the time yourself to look around without thinking of the next monster just waiting to slap you.

Oh - es gibt so viele schöne und tolle Gegenden in EverQuest II, dass es wirklich schwerfällt, sich für eine einzelne zu entscheiden. Von den schönen Wäldern Antonicas, bis hin zum malerischen Stromtal hinauf auf die Hügel der Schreckenstiefe ... es gibt so viele schöne Orte. Man muss sich nur die Zeit und Ruhe nehmen, einmal den Blick schweifen zu lassen ohne an die nächste Gefahr zu denken.
What has been your best or favorite moment as a Guide?
There have been many great Moments the last few years and to decide upon a single one - well - that would be quite unfair for everybody involved in each single moment. But one of the repeating moments is to watch a new Guide growing up under my wing to see how they excel. This makes me very proud every single time.

Es gab viele schöne Momente in den letzten Jahren und mich auf einen einzelnen festzulegen, wäre all denen gegenüber unfair, die an den anderen schönen Momenten beteiligt waren. Aber ein immer wiederkehrender schöner Moment ist, wenn ein Neuzugang im Guide Program unter meiner Verantwortung zu einem großartigen Guide heranwächst. Das erfüllt mich jedesmal mit Stolz.
What is your favorite quest, event, or knowledge circle? What do you do the most of?
To point out a single event here also? This will never happen! But I do remember last Frostfell while we often met with players to talk about the Guide Program and to have some fun together. Maybe you still remember all the Reindeers fooling around in Frostfell-Wonderland? Boy that was fun!

Mich auf ein bestimmtes Ereignis festlegen? Niemals! Aber ich erinnere mich an die letzte Frostfallzeit, als wir uns immer wieder spontan mit Spielern getroffen haben, um und über das Guide Program zu unterhalten und auch, um einfach Spaß zusammen zu haben. Vielleicht erinnert sich noch jemand an die Rentierherden, die im Frostfall-Wunderland ihr Unwesen trieben? Das war vielleicht ein Spaß.
What has been your worst of least favorite moment as being a Guide?
I don't like it - but yes - these moments exist - even for us guides. The worst thing that happened to me in the past was to know about some of my guide-friends being in hospital. I am still keeping the one single candle burning for one of my guides. Fate is unclear and nobody knows what the outcome will be (*wave* D.). The Guide Program can and will create friendships that exist far beyond the boundaries of the Guide Program itself - and I don't want to miss a single person I met here in the past.

Nun ja - auch solche Momente gibt es zweifelsohne. Ich kann es nur schwer abstreiten. Am schlimmsten fand ich es aber in der nahen Vergangenheit mitzukriegen, wie einige Guide-Freunde krank waren und teils sogar ins Krankenhaus mussten. Noch immer bin ich in Gedanken bei einer meiner Guides, der das Schicksal leider nicht gerade wohlgesonnen ist (*wave* D.). Das Guide-Program kann Freundschaften hervorbringen, die auch über das Guide Program hinausgehen - und ich möchte nicht eine Person mehr missen.
As a player have you every run into any Guides and events?
Of course! Although - to be honest - I tend to leave things to other players if it comes to rewards as I always have that strange gut-feeling it being somehow unfair to participate in a quest for a reward (although nobody knows I am one of their ranks at all) :-)

Oh natürlich! Auch wenn ich ehrlich gesagt, lieber Spielern den Vortritt lasse - denn irgendwie habe ich immer das Gefühl, es wäre unfair, würde ich an einer Quest mit der Absicht teilnehmen, eine Belohnung zu bekommen (auch wenn niemand weiß, das sich selbst auch Guide bin) :-)
What is your favorite thing about this Game?
The community created by the game. I know of no other game creating strong friendships that even blend over into real life and exist for many years although some people left the game meanwhile.

Die Spielergemeinschaft, die das Spiel hervorbringt. Ich habe es in noch keinem anderen Spiel erlebt, dass sich derart intensive Freundschaften herausbilden, die auch über das Spiel hinaus Bestand haben und selbst nach Jahren noch fortbestehen, auch wenn manch einer das Spiel bereits lange verlassen hat.
What do you plan to do in the future as a Guide? Any goals?
Let's see ... what else could I go for ... as Senior Guide I am in charge of the welfare of the Guide Program on my servers and that's quite a challenging and rewarding task. Should the Guide Program need someone having fun in working towards the advancement of the Guide Program I will always be one of those offering help quickly to assist and offer to the best of my abilities to help in whatever task it needs to make the Program a place where many different kinds of people can have fun together.

Oh - was gäbe es noch zu erreichen ... als Senior Guide bin ich für das Wohlergehen des Guide Program auf meinen Servern zuständig und das ist eine durchaus anspruchsvolle Aufgabe. Wenn das Guide Program jemanden benötigt, um mit Spaß und Freude am Fortschritt des Guide Program zu arbeiten, bin ich immer gerne vorne dabei und versuche mein Möglichstes, um das Guide Program zu einem Ort zu machen, an dem und durch den viele verschiedene Menschen Spaß haben.
